Norton Club Cambria Ride - June 2006

Photo's and Story by Toni Lee

Another great Norton ride in Cambria, THANKS BIB!

We started our day at breakfast in Cambria and about 45 bikes took off for the 46 to Vineyard and then to G14 on to G16 to Carmel and down the coast back to Cambria.

I am sorry to say that 45 bikes did not complete the ride.  Ann Marie's sweet bike was trailered back and she finished the ride on Mitch's bike.  Early on we had a lady rider hit a deer and thank goodness she is ok although her bike and the deer were not.  We had a few more breakdowns where Basil was included in that group but thank goodness after a break in the shade, a short walk and a call to dad the bike started and we were on our way again.

So much beauty...  It is so incredible to be on a motorcycle amidst all the beauty.  Especially when you can share it with someone you love.  Not to mention the sheer adventure of it.

After your ride...  Your shower has NEVER felt better, your meal has NEVER been more nourishing, your sleep has never been more restful.  Everything is better when you ride!

Great to spend the weekend as a group although Mike was noticeably absent.  We are lucky to have a new member of the Glory Stompers Kate.  She has had such determination and enthusiasm and her hard work has paid off.  We love having Norm and Janet around and there presence is always appreciated.  We all LOVE our baby Glory Stomper Maria.  Maria is so special and we are excited about the second baby due in December.  Jen is always a treat and the reason why the Cambria ride is something to look forward to.

I would have liked more time to catch up with...Chris and Denise (I am missing twin sister and husband for sure), Jim and his brother, Bib, Kevin and many more.

While Basil's bike was able to finish the ride, it was unable to make it home.  We loaded the bike onto Sven's truck and were on our way.

An AWESOME weekend!
